General information

Karate is considered the martial art of Okinawa, due to the ban on possession of any weapons on the island. The only way and tool of self-defense was the warrior's body. As a result of the ban, the island's inhabitants united into secret societies in which bare-handed fighting methods were taught. The "Bushi" warrior was able to effectively defend himself with his body against an armed attacker. Trainings usually took place at night and secretly, as they were banned by the authorities. Strikes were practiced on special "makiwara" devices, and special "kata" exercises were repeated many times, allowing one to master the hand-to-hand combat technique without the help of a partner. The opponents of the Okinawans were armed and experienced samurai - in order to emerge victorious in such clashes, the main goal was to overtake the enemy and kill him with one blow. This is how the slogan "Ichi giki" or "Ikken hissatsu" - "One punch - death" was born. Thus, the arms and legs of  defenseless Okinawans became lethal weapons. Intensive and long-lasting training brought the trainees to the highest technical level and stunning impact power, and the hardened body, insensitive to pain, became a terrible weapon. It is customary to call any outfit for eastern martial arts a kimono, but a kimono is a traditional Japanese outfit that the Japanese wore every day, and it was only in the 19th century that it began to be associated with an outfit consisting of a sweatshirt and trousers, which is used in training in eastern arts. fighting.

The proper name of clothing for practicing eastern martial arts is Gi or DoGi - they all look very similar, but there are many styles and therefore there are also many types of kimonos for training - kimono for practicing karate is karategi, or simply dogi or gi.

KarateGi Kyokushinkai is intended for a contact style of karate in which punches, blocks and kicks are the basic techniques.

Overlord® Karate Suit Kyokushi

The Kyokushin Overlord Karate Suit is a very comfortable karateGi model that is perfect for training, sparring and competitions..

The modern cut ensures precision in the techniques performed. Wide, foot-covering pants with a gusset at the crotch provide great freedom of movement, especially important when kicking. The waistband of the pants is finished with elastic and an adjustable string ensures high comfort of using the KatateGi. The trousers are made of fabric weighing 10oz (280g/m2).

The classic Kyokushin Overlord kimono sweatshirt with wide, falling ¾-length sleeves and navy blue Kyokushin kanji embroidery on the left chest is tied with inner and outer strings.

To stiffen the kimono - the sleeve cuffs, the bottom of the sweatshirt and the trouser legs are stitched several times, and the strong seams connecting individual karateGi elements ensure high resistance to damage.

The Kyokushin Overlord kimono is made of very high-quality, absorbent and skin-friendly cotton, with a density that ensures resistance to all types of mechanical damage.

It will work well for both beginners and advanced students with high requirements.

The Overlord kimono will work great in Shinkyokushin, Kyokyshin-kan and other Kyokushin karate styles.

Please remember that the kimono will shrink by approximately 8% of its length and 1-2% of its width during the first few washes. The main criterion for choosing a kimono is the student's height, when choosing the size, we do not recommend adding more than 5 cm to the height of an adult athlete, in the case of children's kimonos it can be up to 10 cm - during the first fitting, the pants and jacket should be too big.

General information

Painful bruises and even fractures of the tibia most often occur as a result of direct trauma to the anterior part of the lower leg, which is why protection of this area is so important. Nevertheless, it should be remembered that when performing strong kicks, large overloads also affect the dorsal part of the metatarsal and the ankle joint, which is the most susceptible to injury of all joints in the human body. The shin and foot protector is an essential piece of equipment in full contact combat sports, its task is to protect against kicks by the rival and when striking. Choosing the right model of shin and foot protectors depends on the discipline you practice and the level of advancement. Muay Thai, Kickboxing or Krav Maga, due to the large number of strong kicks, requires well-profiled, hard protectors that cover the legs to the maximum. In the case of MMA, shin guards should not restrict freedom of movement, especially during sparring or ground fighting. This type of protectors, thanks to their lightweight construction, allow for greater precision of strikes while protecting against opponent's kicks. Both types of protectors should be made of very resistant and durable materials and finished on the inside with a non-slip, breathable and moisture-absorbing strong fabric. Properly selected shin guards will ensure comfort and safety regardless of the martial arts discipline. It is also very important to adjust the size so that they do not move during training and at the same time do not limit the freedom of movement. They will work very well, e.g. in such disciplines as Karate, Taekwondo, Kyokushin and in other martial arts, during which protection and attack with the legs do not require steel shinbones. Overlord offers models that are both lighter, guaranteeing greater freedom of movement, and heavier, with a reinforced structure, perfect for techniques that use lower and extremely strong kicks.

General information

Karate is a self-defense art that uses the human body only and in the most effective way. As part of karate, adepts undergo tameshi-wari exercises consisting in breaking hard objects (boards, bricks, tiles, etc.), among others. with the edge of the hand, fist. Used in karate, regardless of the practiced style, the techniques of blocks, punches and strikes with an "empty hand" are associated with the occurrence of injuries and injuries. Most often there are abrasions, bruises, sprains and damage to the soft tissues of the hands. The causes of hand injuries can be very different - improper warm-up, training errors or overtraining. A very common cause of injuries is improperly selected or poor quality protectors - fists. The quality and safety of training depends on well-chosen mitts, they may differ in details related to the requirements of individual karate styles, but all of them have an open structure, which results from the specificity of striking and focusing heavy loads on the proximal phalanges and interphalangeal joints. All of them are usually made of a relatively thin material, reinforced with a suitable foam placed only on the outer part of the hand. A well-thought-out selection of mitts is extremely important, because they are the only hand protection against injuries.
